I'm on crutches but wife's team made big move.
Byline: GRAHAM GANO'S Letter from America
I had an operation on my foot on Friday and immediately after I didn't feel well at all.
The anaesthesia was wearing off and I went straight home because it was my wife's birthday party.
There's a little bit of pain now but my wife has been great because she took care of me even when it was her big day.
They were able to pull the bone out of my foot and it turns out it had broken into a bunch of shards and so they chiselled more out.
I should recover quickly enough.
After years Chargers I'm on crutches and have two young sons so that's not headed LA, from always the best thing in case they jump on my foot.
their But they have their first basketball game tomorrow so I'll need to make sure I'm there.
Since the last column I was also able to attend my special teams coach Bruce DeHaven's funeral.
Other than that I've basically been hanging around with the kids and doing stuff around the house.
When we got up to Buffalo for the funeral, we actually had to stay an extra day because the snow hit flights.
I know it has been snowing in Scotland too and from memory, it causes problems all the time too.
Unfortunately I'll be watching the play-offs from my couch tonight.
And I think the team that will win the Super Bowl is playing.
Green Bay Packers are my pick.
My brothers support them so I guess if I have to root for someone it would be them.
The other big news from the NFL this week is that the San Diego Chargers became the Los Angeles Chargers. After 60 years, they just changed the name and moved a couple of hundred miles away from all the fans.
60 the for away all of fans My wife and her family and everyone in San Diego is simply devastated. It's a wild situation and people feel betrayed.
I'm not sure what the Chargers fans like my wife will do.
They can't just start supporting the 49ers or Oakland Raiders just because they happen to be in California.
But you can't root for a team thousands of miles away either.
Situations like this make me realise how lucky I am to be with an organisation like the Panthers.
