I'm happy to be vein.

Byline: SAIRA KHAN

These days you can get Botox in your back garden and mums on the school run have eyebrow tattoos and lip fillers. It's not just for celebs.

But these cosmetic procedures are still pretty new and there are plenty of horror stories about. So I'm glad I met beauty writer Alice Hart-Davis. In her book, Tweakments, she reveals she's been a guinea pig for everything going - fillers, lasers, peels. But she doesn't look like a Siamese cat - she looks, well, normal. Beautiful.

I'm 50 next year and I'd love to lose some pigmentation and broken veins. But you need to be so sure you're getting proper treatment. So I'll probably stick with make-up. It hurts a lot less.
