Hyundai Motor America, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company (KSE: 005380), is launching a government shutdown payment relief program.

The program is intended for federal employees furloughed during the government shutdown.

According to the plan, the automaker will extend all Hyundai Capital auto loan and lease payments for 30 days for present Hyundai owners who are federal government employees that have been furloughed during the shutdown. It is estimated that more than 800,000 workers are not being paid during the shutdown.
