Hysterical woman had been drugged.

A WOMAN found crying hysterically for help in the street had been drugged against her will.

The 20-year-old was discovered banging on house windows and screaming in Edinburgh.

When police arrived, she could not remember why she was so upset.

The unnamed victim has been examined by a doctor to establish whether she had also been the victim of a sexual attack.

Detectives were yesterday waiting on the outcome of those tests.

Retrace The incident happened in the city's Restalrig Drive, late on July 17.

The woman had been at a party in Waverley Park and decided to go home at around 11.45pm.

But she cannot remember what happened after she left.

Lothian and Borders Police are hoping to retrace the woman's route.

A spokesman said: "We'd like to speak to anyone who may have seen a woman walking along London Road or in Restalrig or Meadowbank."
