Hybrid stepper motors offer low detent torque.

AMETEK announced its MAE brand HN Series hybrid stepper motors that feature low detent torque to holding torque ratios, promoting smooth operation and the fine positioning capability required for microstep operation. These motors can provide accurate open-loop control and high-speed operation suitable for a range of positioning applications. The standard size 34 hybrid steppers are available in three models (lengths 2.64" to 4.92" with step resolutions of 1.8[degrees] (200 steps per rev.) in full-step mode. Holding torques (bipolar) from 397 oz.-in. to 1,076 oz.-in. can be achieved, depending on the model. Motor rotation can run clockwise or counterclockwise. The motors are CE approved, manufactured according to EN 60034-1:1995-02 specifications, and they can be provided to meet IP55 dust and splash-proof protection.
