Huskies on track.

UP TO 1,000 husky dogs were expected to limber up today before an annual dog race - the largest of its kind in the UK.

Enthusiasts are due to pack into the heart of the Highlands this weekend to see around 225 teams of dogs and their owners compete in the Royal Canine Aviemore Sled-dog Rally.

It is run around Loch Morlich, in the Forest of Cairngorm mountains near the Aviemore resort.

The rally features teams of between two and eight dogs running at up to 20mph over a four-mile track.
