Husband killed, wife injured in Rangers' firing.
KARACHI -- Rangers opened fire at scuffling couple, killing husband and hurting wife here at Nagan Chowrangi vicinity of the metropolis on Friday.
Rangers confessed to have misusing the powers but said inquiry to access the facts has been ordered and details will be made public. Police said that Rangers personnel opened fire in Nagan Chowrangi area near Siddiqui-e-Akhbar Mosque, leaving the man dead and his wife injured. The dead and injured were rushed to nearby Abbasi Shaheed hospital where the wife confirmed that her husband was quarrelling with her and did not stop despite the Rangers warnings.
The man was identified as Zeeshan s/o Shahabbin whereas his wife name is Safia Zeeshan. The Rangers' account of story was not different also. A statement issued by the paramilitary force said "at Nagan Chowrangi people drew attention of Rangers personnel who were deployed on a piquet in the area towards a man who was apparently trying to abduct a woman". The statement emailed to The Frontier Post further told that Rangers personnel while responding to the situation fired warning shots in air but the individual kept on scuffling, resultantly Rangers personnel shot injured the man to arrest him, who later succumbed to his injuries in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
