Hungarians in Macedonia celebrate 15 March, unveil memorial plaquette of Sandor Petofi.

On the occasion of the Hungarian National Day, on 17 March members of the Hungarian community in Skopje attended the official unveiling of a memorial plaquette honoring Sandor Petofi, a national hero and poet, on the street named after him in the Dracevo district of KiselaVoda. The ceremony was organized by Mr. Marjan Gorcev, Mayor of KiselaVoda, H.E. Dr. Jozsef Bencze, Ambassador of Hungary, and the President of the Telecottage Association of Hungarians, Mr. Jozsef Sutus. The bilingual, Macedonian-Hungarian, memorial plaquette was presented in the settings of a cultural show that included poetry recitals by Macedonian students in tribute of the 1848-49 Revolution and War of Independence.
