Hungarian embassy holds National Day reception.

ISLAMABAD -- The Hungarian Embassy in Islamabad Friday held a reception here on the National Day of Hungary to commemorate the 60th anniversary of 1956 Revolution and Freedom Fight.

Celebrated on October 23, the National Day also commemorates the proclamation of Third Hungarian Republic after the fall of communism some 25 years ago.

Traditionally, the heroes and victims of 1956 are commemorated on the day.

Hosted by Ambassador of Hungary Istvan Szabo and spouse Emilia Szabo, the colourful event was attended by the diplomats from various countries, politicians and notables from across the federal capital.

Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada was chief guest of the ceremony.

The national anthems of both Pakistan and Hungary were played on the occasion.

The ambassador along with the dignitaries cut the national day cake at the occasion.
