Huge response to story-telling session at Sharjah Book Fair.

Sharjah: Young schoolgoers anxious not to miss a story-telling session made for a busy day at the Sharjah World Book Fair on Wednesday even as the exhibition is drawing to a close.

The book fair will conclude tomorrow.

Organisers at Expo Centre, the exhibition venue, pointed out that all major children's activities will conclude on Thursday.

"Special activities were held all week long and we have received an overwhelming response from public and private schools," said Amal Abdul Fattah, one of the organisers of the story-telling session.

Questions were asked from time to time to keep the young listeners involved. "To ensure complete participation and to encourage the students, we hand out gifts to those giving the right questions," said Amal.

Teachers expressed satisfaction with the variety of children's activities and the opportunity it gave for the students to mingle.

"The students make new friends from other schools when they participate in these activities. Also, the prizes encourage a spirit of healthy competition," said Rasha Al Aswad, an assistant teacher from Al Ansar International School.
