Huddersfield children join Harewood fun day; Picture special.

YOUNGSTERS from Huddersfield were among more than 400 children taking part in a fun day organised by the Yorkshire region of the Variety Club Children's Charity.

Pupils fromCastleHill School, between Newsome and Berry Brow, and youngsters from Huddersfield Women's Aid enjoyed a packed day of activities and entertainment at Harewood House, between Leeds and Harrogate.

It included face-painting, jugglers and magicians, an outdoor lunch and a disco.

The Earl and Countess of Harewood provided complimentary access to the grounds of their estate, including Harewood House bird garden and the adventure playground.

Drinks and chocolates were donated by Nestle, of York.

Sarah Byrne, a member of the Yorkshire committee of the Variety Club, said: "As a charity, we are dedicated to bringing 'sunshine' into the lives of disabled and disadvantaged children."
