Hubbard's 'Europe' launched into refrigeration.

Hubbard Transport Refrigeration, have launched the Europe, an electrically-driven system capable of cooling complete full-size insulated trailers down to -28[degrees]C, using the alternator fitted to the main engine.

The Europe system provides cooling from 11kW at 0[degrees]C to 5.5kw at -20[degrees]C and features a low-profile external condenser in an aerodynamic weatherproof housing, together with a slim internal evaporator that takes up minimal interior space. It is powered by a 3-phase alternator fitted to the main engine, mounted within the main engine compartment and belt-driven from the crankshaft. The control and operation of the Europe system is via an easy to use digital controller that is fully programmable and gives a constant temperature readout with logging option. Frost build-up is kept at bay with a hot gas defrost program. A supplementary diesel powerpack is available if required, for emergencies. A hydro alternator set and temperature data logger are also available as options.
