How to make money on Pricewise without backing a winner.

FOR once, it's not about which Cheltenham Festival winners Pricewise may tip, but how many, writes Jon Lees.

Ladbrokes have opened a book on it and go 5-4 nought to two winners and the same price three to four winners.

Tom Segal is 100-30 to better last year's results - when he tipped Menorah (12-1) and A New Story (40-1) - by putting readers on to four or more winners.

Ladbrokes spokesman David Williams said: "There seem to be more tipsters every week, but Pricewise remains the gold standard.

"When Tom Segal publishes his selections the market is almost guaranteed to move with him.

"His record of success is beyond compare and the first thing every bookie will do next week when we wake up will be turn to the Pricewise pages in the Post.

"Last year's festival was a great week for the bookies on balance, but A New Story was a notable blot.

"We make no apology for hoping Tom has a dip in form during the biggest week of our year."

The bet covers Segal's selections tipped in the Pricewise column in the paper between Tuesday and Friday, but does not include his ante-post selections.

How many festival winners will Pricewise tip? Ladbrokes: 5-4 0 to 2 winners inc, 3 to 4 winners inc, 100-30 more than 4 winners.
