How to drop world's 1st atom bomb.
Byline: WILL CARSON
HAND-DRAWN plans made by the co-pilot for the flight that dropped the world's first atomic bomb have sold at auction for PS29,000.
Captain Robert Lewis detailed in pencil and coloured ink how the Enola Gay would target Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.
One plan shows flight patterns and details where the bomb that killed 150,000 would drop and be detonated.
On another he warns: "Caution - stay 2/3 miles away from atomic cloud at all times."
Capt Lewis famously wrote, "My God, what have we done" in the B29 bomber's log as it returned from the mission over Japan.
Capt Lewis died in 1983 and never made the diagrams public. His son sold them in New York.
