How to change church teaching.

The number of official Catholic Church documents accessible via the Internet is growing every day. An official responsible for the Vatican Web site recently announced that soon all the writings of this century's nine popes will be available online.

But, according to an Associated Press report, the Vatican has also had to invest heavily in protective measures for its Internet site. Sister Judith Zoebelein, the technical director of the Vatican's Internet Office, says hackers try to break into the Vatican's computers six or seven times a day. "All you have to do is get in and change a document, and you can change profoundly [church] teachings." (Lexington Herald-Leader, Sept. 6, 1998)
