How dare Obama preach to Britain?
HOW very tactful and diplomatic of Barack Obama to interfere in British politics and indeed threaten a host nation (UK) with the words: "If we vote to stay out of Europe we Brits would be at the back of a queue in any trade deal with the US." What trade deal would that be then, as there has been none for more than 40 years? The US has signed the North American Trade Agreement (NAFTA), a free trade area with Mexico and Canada, similar to the Old Common Market - can you imagine Obama embracing a headquarters similar to Brussels in Mexico City or Ottawa - Mexico, and indeed every South American country must be echoing with cynical and hysterical mirth to the hypocritical words of Barack Obama.
It is also disgraceful for Obama to insist he has a stake in the referendum debate because of his country's sacrifice in the Second World War - Britain and the Commonwealth lost more troops than the Americans - what an insult to every brave soul in our islands who fought for king and country and not for some anonymous and unaccountable faces in Europe.
The slight is made much worse when our wartime ally, the Soviet Union, lost nearly 11 million soldiers in the Second World War, about 65% of all allied military casualties - President Putin must truly be affronted by such ignorance and bemused watching the blind leading the blind - indeed, we should all be very troubled when our very own Prime Minister encourages such interference - has he finally taken leave of all his senses? Still, there is some light at the end of the tunnel as on the other side of the Atlantic this insulting President's days are numbered. As for Obama giving advice, his regime is the most-failed presidency the US has ever had - Obama Care is a disaster. Libya was just the first of his foreign policy disasters, and regarding his hypocritical advice on immigration, why is his administration looking at new visa requirements and screening from Germany, Belgium, Greece and France, because of recent terrorist attacks? I struggle to understand how any thinking person would want to vote for David Cameron or George Osborne, but more importantly to vote to stay in the unaccountable and increasingly out-of-control EU.
