How To Make Thanksgiving Gravy.

No Thanksgiving feast is complete without gravy, even if turkey is arguably the main attraction. For people who haven't hosted a holiday dinner before, making gravy can be a daunting task. Luckily, the beloved sauce can be created in three easy steps.

One of the most important things to have when making gravy is the drippings from the turkey. For that reason, the sauce cannot be started until the turkey is finished roasting. Once the holiday bird has completed its time in the oven, save the remaining juice-even though it doesn't always look appetizing.

For stress-free holiday cooking, follow these easy steps, courtesy of (http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-quick-turkey-gravy-thanksgiving-cooking-lessons-from-the-kitchn-161016) TheKitchn.com:

Ingredients:

-- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

-- 1-2 cups of chicken broth or water

-- 1 cup pan drippings

-- salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. When the turkey is finished cooking, remove it from the tray and place all the drippings and fat into a pan. Place that pan on medium-high heat on the stovetop. Once it begins to bubble slightly, add the broth or water. Continue to stir so everything mixes together. There will probably be little bits of meat from the turkey-that's OK.

2. For those who like a smooth gravy, it's time to strain the liquid. If the bits aren't a bother, leave the mixture as it is. Now it's time to slowly mix the flour. This will produce a roux, which is another word for a thin paste. This process should take no longer than 5 minutes.

3. Continue to stir until in becomes thick. Add salt and pepper to taste. Pour into a fun gravy bowl and voila!

Bonus: For those with a more sophisticated palate, adding fresh herbs like parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme will give the gravy a boost.

Happy Thanksgiving!
