Housing training for lucky foursome.

FOUR new apprentices are being given on-the-job training through a council housing service.

Trainees Charlotte Williamson, 17, Daniel McEwen, 17, Jade Senior, 18, and Ryan Welsh, 18, will be based at North Tyneside Council's headquarters for the next 18 months.

They will learn the ropes of working with North Tyneside Homes whilst also working towards a customer service NVQ at North Tyneside Enterprise and Skills Centre.

The four will then spend three months in each of the different departments involved with the running of the local authority's housing service.

Jade, from Whitley Bay, said: "I was really pleased to get this apprenticeship. It's a great opportunity to learn something new. "I was looking for a role which would challenge me as well as something that could benefit my community, and the apprenticeship within North Tyneside Homes fits with this perfectly." The council's apprentice scheme is run with Constructing Communities.
