Housing firm cited as top developer in prestige line-up.
A BIRMINGHAM-based affordable housing provider has been named one of the top developing landlords in the country after it built more than 1,000 homes at a cost of more than PS145 million in a year.
Housing & Care 21, which provides affordable accommodation for older people as well as home care, was placed eighth on a list of the top 50 developing housing providers in the UK.
The organisation, based at Tricorn House on Hagley Road, built 1,131 homes between April 2014 and March 2015. It was the highest of the new entrants on the list, which is compiled by Inside Housing magazine.
Chief executive Bruce Moore said: "We are absolutely delighted to be placed so high on the list of top developing housing providers and it is a mark of all the fantastic work last year to build quality homes for older people up and down the UK. The development team has done a great job and deserves a lot of praise."
The organisation owns and runs more than 120 extra care schemes, which combine individual apartments for older people with communal facilities and on-site care.
