House lawmaker introduces articles of impeachment against Trump.

WASHINGTON, Oct 11 (KUNA) -- A Texas Democrat introduced articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Wednesday, calling the commander-in-chief "unfit" to serve. Representative Al Green introduced formal impeachment procedures against the president before the floor of the House of Representatives. Among other things, the articles charge that Trump "has undermined the integrity of his office with impunity, has brought disrepute on the presidency with immunity, is unfit to be president and has betrayed his trust to the manifest injury of the American people." Citing the president's tweets and controversial comments on national issues and minority groups, Green accused Trump, who has only been in the White House since January 2017, as "fueling an alt-right hate machine, causing immediate injury to American society." Though Green's move is largely considered a long-shot, he is the second Democrat to introduce articles of impeachment against Trump, and comes amid growing bipartisan ire towards the Trump administration. On Wednesday, California billionaire investor Tom Steyer, one of the Democratic Party's most prominent financial backers, issued a demand in a letter to Democrats to support removing him from office. Earlier in the week, influential Republican Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee expressed grave doubts about Trump's stability and competence, saying on social media the White House had become an "adult day care".
