Hot-runner nozzles heat more evenly.

Melt Design Inc., St. Charles, Ill., has developed a new line of internally heated hot-runner nozzles that are said to deliver better temperature uniformity and part quality. Equatemp nozzles feature a one-piece body and integral heater in which all surfaces of the heater are in direct contact with the nozzle body with no air gaps. The body thereby draws beat immediately away from the element and distributes it evenly across the nozzle. Melt Design says typical external nozzle heaters can produce limited contact between the heater and nozzle body, leading to hot and cold spots and premature heater failure. The units also have replaceable tips and seals. Tel: (630) 443-4000 * PT Direct: 861DB
