Hot embers lead to shed burning down; IN BRIEF.

A SHED burned down and a home and two garages were damaged after hot embers were thrown into a wheelie bin.

The blaze began at 11.15am on Sunday (July 21) in a bin in the back garden in Buckingham Drive in Loughborough.

By the time fire crews arrived the bin was destroyed and the blaze had spread to a shed and a garage.

After the fire was out, the bin was reportedly destroyed, the shed "severely damaged" and the garage had "slight" fire damage. There was also some light smoke damage to the house and some minor fire damage to the garage next door.

Watch manager Dean Platts urged people to let hot embers cool down before putting them in the bin.
