Hot action out of the shadows.
Tenchu: Shadow Assassins - Wii. pounds 39.99 IT'S a tough life being a harderthan-nails ninja and the Tenchu franchise has been throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Rikimaru and Ayame for the best part of a decade now.
Here on Wii, the remote gives you all the motion-sensing functionality to fight, dash, jump and kill like a true assassin, as you do all you can to keep the peace in feudal Japan.
Those new to Tenchu will be glad they picked this up, if only for the excellent assassination sequences that will keep the adrenalin pumping under the cover of the shadows.
Ninja Blade - Xbox 360. pounds 44.99 YET more ninja action to contend with In an action-packed adventure set within modern day Tokyo.
Who'd have thought - parasites known as alpha-worms have mysteriously appeared, unleashing a wave of human destruction. It's up to you to eliminate this weird and wonderful enemy onslaught, and ultimately save mankind.
It all adds up to a pretty standard hack'n'slash experience.
Dementium: The Ward - Nintendo DS. pounds 29.99 SURVIVAL horror isn't really a genre that DS game developers have put too much effort into in the past ...
until now that is.
If you're brave enough to take on Dementium: The Ward, you'll find yourself waking up alone in a mysterious, derelict hospital frozen in time.
Confronted by the grotesque surgical experiments that wander the halls, a series of challenging puzzles and a cast of peculiar characters, Dementium does a fine job of creeping you out with gory visuals and bone-chilling audio.
This will have you playing long into the night, if you've got the nerve.
WSC Real 09: World Snooker Championship - PS3. pounds 39.99 TOUTED as the ultimate snooker simulation, WSC Real 09 packs in more pots than you can shake a stick - or cue - at.
With all real-life licenses intact, coupled by the games superb presentation, there's not much not to like about this annual update, particularly when you delve into the online world and start building a bit of a name for yourself.
Owners of the previous 2008 version may want to think twice before shelling out pounds 40 for this, as the improvements don't really warrant another full purchase. But if you're snooker loopy, you'll probably already have this on order.
