Hospice's friends mark pounds 80,000 in donations.

ONE of Ty Hafan's most successful supporting groups is celebrating a major landmark.

In the 15 years since it was formed, Sully Friends of Ty Hafan has raised more than pounds 80,000 for the nearby children's hospice. On Saturday night, at a quiz in the village, Friends chairwoman Kay Bowring handed a cheque for pounds 4,500 to Frank Ady from Ty Hafan.

"We took the opportunity to thank everyone who, over the past 15 years, has contributed to raising money for this worthwhile cause and to ask for their continued support, which is especially needed today," she said.

Since 1994, the group has been active in the Vale by organising regular treasure hunts, quizzes and barn dances and encouraging local businesses to contribute raffle prizes and auction items.
