Horse Racing: Mirror Racing - Gowran Park.

UNSEASONABLY quick ground is expected at Fairyhouse today where Giant Eagle is napped to make a successful hurdling debut in the opener.

This Giant's Causeway gelding recorded bumper wins at Gowran Park and Cork and ran creditably when ninth to Mick The Man in the Paddy Power Champion Bumper at the Punchestown Festival.

Off the track since his win at Cork in June, he finished a good second to Zaarito at Tipperary recently.

The booking of Ruby Walsh for the Dermot Weld-trained Strath Gallant in the Blanchardstown Maiden Hurdle is significant.

Successful twice on the flat last year, including a Curragh handicap win off 84, the son of Alhaarth finished in mid-division in the race won by Earmark at Wexford back in March.

On dry ground and around the inside track at Fairyhouse, Walsh's mount is preferred to the Christy Roche-trained Ah Ya Boy Ya.
