Byline: Rachel Pagones, Amy Bennett and Nancy Sexton

US Horse of the Year Azeri delivered her first foal on Valentine's Day at Hill W Dale Farm in Kentucky.

The chestnut colt is by A.P. Indy. Owned by the Allen E Paulson Living Trust, Azeri won 17 races, including 11 Grade 1s, headed by a victory in the 2002 Breeders' Cup Distaff. Her exploits not only earned her the 2002 Horse of the Year Award but three consecutive titles of champion older mare from 2002 to 2004.

The daughter of Jade Hunter was barren to Storm Cat in 2005 but will visit that stallion again this year.
