Horse Racing: Two French awards for Lawman breeder Lady Chryss O'Reilly; BLOODSTOCK WORLD.
LADY CHRYSS O'REILLY'S Petra Bloodstock Agency was named the leading breeder in France at the annual French breeders' dinner in Deauville on Sunday night.
Lady O'Reilly also received a separate award as the breeder of this year's Prix du Jockey-Club hero Lawman, who added to his Group 1 tally in the Prix Jean Prat. The son of Invincible Spirit will stand his first season at Ballylinch Stud next year.
Lawman, bred in the name of Petra Bloodstock Agency, is out of Lady O'Reilly's homebred Gulch mare Laramie. Laramie is the first mare to produce the winners of both the Prix du Jockey-Club and Prix de Diane, having previously foaled Latice, who landed the French Oaks in 2004.
Lady O'Reilly, whose horses are based at her Haras de la Louviere in France and Castlemartin Stud in Ireland, has bred a host of outstanding performers, including the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Helissio, the 2000 Poule d'Essai des Poulains victor Bluemamba, and leading French sire Highest Honor, while another Petra Bloodstock Agency homebred to race with distinction this year was the Group 2 Lowther Stakes heroine Nahoodh, sold by O'Reilly as a foal.
