Horror remake; THE WICKER MAN (12A).

Byline: By Graham Young

OPENING with no press previews like Snakes On A Plane, The Wicker Man is Neil LaBute's contentious remake of Robin Hardy's seminal 1 973 horror film.

It's about an inexperienced police officer, Edward Maulis (Nicolas Cage), who travels to a remote island to locate a missing child and stumbles upon a close-knit community devoted to strange Pagan practices.

As Edward learns more about the locals and their beliefs, he unwittingly places his life in g rave danger.

Since the original movie was an 18, the distributors were apparently gutted when the BBFC only rated this a 12A - and not the 15 they'd been expecting!
