Horror hit sequel, "A Quiet Place 2", to hit screens May 15, 2020.
Director-writer John Krasinksi announced on Tuesday the release date for the sequel of horror hit "A Quiet Place 2".
In an Instagram post, Krasinski confirmed "A Quiet Place 2" is set to hit theaters on May 15 2020. "...time to go back. #PartII 5-15-20," he wrote.
"The reason I decided to go back, in the end, was this world is so rich, and it's so much fun to explore. There are so many different things to see now. Everyone else in the world is experiencing this, so I'm curious to see what that looks like from another perspective," Krasinski said in an interview with film website Deadline.
"A Quiet Place" follows the story of Abbott family (Krasinski, Blunt, Jupe and Simmonds), survivors of an alien invasion that required complete silence of humanity's remnants.
Production for the second film will start on July 2019, with producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form at the helm.
Joining Krasinski will also be original writers Bryan Woods and Scott Beck.
Also returning in the second film are stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe
Blunt recently won a Screen Actors Guild award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the movie.
"A Quiet Place" made $340 million at the international box office from an estimated production budget of around $17 million.
