Horiba Introduces New Particle Size Technology.

Horiba Instruments Inc. has announced the introduction of the Crystalsizer, manufactured by Retsch, to the U.S. market. The Crystalsizer uses incoherent light diffraction and is designed to measure both free flowing and cohesive dry powders over a range of 0.7 to 2,500 microns.

The instrument uses a unique high resolution LCD with individual rings that are accessed in rapid succession. The unit uses a halogen lamp source, and this simple design makes it ideal for industrial applications. An on-line version is available.

Cohesive powders are dispersed using compressed air through an optical dispersion unit and the instrument is supplied with a simple yet, sophisticated Windows-based software package.
