Honest, I'm a really big fan of Real Madrid; PICK OF THE DAY.

Live football Sky Sports 2, 7.45pm TOTTENHAM have got to the Champions League quarterfinals thanks to hard work, attractive attacking football and relatively sensible expenditure, writes Michael Brear.

They're playing the most successful side in European history, who are spearheaded by the smuggest man in football and take a vulgar approach to their transfer dealings.

So why, as a neutral, do I want Real to win? The only conclusion I can come to is that I'm an innately bad person.

Never mind, at least I'm not as pathetically perched on a fence as David Beckham.

"I played for Real Madrid for four years and have always said I would support them in all their matches," he said. "But then I was at Spurs, so there are mixed emotions."

Let's not forget that by "then I was at Spurs", Beckham actually means "during the January transfer window I trained for a club I represented as a child in a bid to expand the cockney-boydone-good facets of my brand".

I might be evil, but at least I tell the truth on my cv.
