Tell us about your exotic origins?
On my mother's side, I have a huge family in Singapore. But I don't speak Chinese and I'm too English to live there. But eight years ago my stepfather, who is a lecturer, got a professorship in Singapore, so he and Mum have lived there ever since.
Where were you born and brought up?
I was born in Kent, but we moved to Oxfordshire when I was about a year old, and I was brought up in Abingdon. It was quite rural, and I loved it. I think Oxford is the most fantastic city in England. When I was 16, my mother married my stepfather and we moved to Bristol.
What part of London is home?
I moved to Clapham Common, to be near my friends. Then, a year ago, I ended up buying my own flat not far from there.
What can you tell us about your flat?
It's unusual in that it's got three-four bedrooms and loads of space, yet cost the same as tiny two-bedroom flats I looked at. The woman who lived there was a potter, so it's quite arty. It's got loads of character, stripped wooden floors and doors.
Did you spend a lot of money doing it up?
Yes. It needed a new roof and re-decorating throughout.
Do you like London life?
I love London - there's so much choice. I think I'll return to Oxfordshire one day - it's my dream to have a rose-lined cottage there.
