Hollywood weds in secret at Disneyworld; High Road star Gary smuggles his unsuspecting fiancee's wedding dress to Florida then asks her to walk up the aisle with Minnie and Mickey.

STUNNING Sharon Mudie thought her High Road sweetheart Gary Hollywood was whisking her off to Disneyworld for a well- earned break.

What she did not know was that packed away in his luggage was a little something he had bought in the January sales... a wedding dress.

Gary, 25, stunned Sharon by secretly planning a fairytale wedding at Disney's Cinderella's Castle in Florida.

The actor popped the question at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park on Valentine's Day.

When Sharon said yes, he added: "And the wedding is in three days at Cinderella's Castle."

But no wedding ever goes without a hitch.

Gary had a few heart-stopping moments when US baggage handlers mislaid their luggage - including Sharon's wedding dress and his kilt.

Fortunately they turned up in time for the couple's big day and dance teacher Sharon, 30, was able to walk down the aisle in her dream gown.

Gary said: "Sharon and I got engaged at Christmas and we'd talked about getting married later this year.

"But I love her so much, I just couldn't wait and decided to give her the surprise of her life.

"It was really hard keeping all the plans secret but I really wanted to surprise her."

He even came up with a cunning plan to make sure Sharon had the dress she wanted for the surprise wedding.

He said: "I didn't trust myself to pick exactly the right dress so I had to think of a way to get her to buy what she wanted. I finally played on her love of a good bargain, and ordered her out to get a dress in the January sales."

Sharon laughed: "I called him all the cheapskate names I could think of but I didn't have a clue what was behind it.

"What he didn't know was that the dress I liked wasn't in the sales at all - and it cost a fortune. My parents were in on the secret and bought it for me."

When Gary finally told Sharon about the Disney wedding her first thought was: "I'm not getting married without my frock."

He said: "Her face was a picture when I told her I'd brought it to America."

The happy couple got married in front of Cinderella's Castle then enjoyed a champagne reception with Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Sharon said: "We had the time of our lives. I will never forget the wonderful atmosphere and sheer joy of those moments.

"Every little girl dreams of having a fairytale wedding - and this truly was."

The happy couple plan to celebrate again with a huge party later this year.

They met 18 months ago, shortly after Gary's heartbreak split with Anne Haney, the mother of his two-year-old son Zach. And suddenly Gary, who played love rat Dominic Ramsay on High Road, found himself being labelled a real life love rat.

He said: "It was a horrible time. Anne and I were too young and things didn't work out. "

Sharon and Gary became proud parents of baby Jack eight months ago and the happy dad said: "I've got two beautiful sons and I love them both very much. I'm a very lucky man."

Since leaving High Road, Gary has starred with Pauline Quirke and Warren Clarke in the BBC hit Down To Earth.

And later this month he will appear in Down the Buroo at Glasgow's Pavilion alongside some of his former High Road colleagues.

Gary became a household name when he landed the role of Dominic Ramsay aged just 15.

Dominic was at the centre of some of Glendarroch's most shocking story lines, including glue-sniffing and teenage sex.

His steamiest plot was a raunchy affair with lady laird Sam Hagen, played by Briony McRoberts.
