Hollywood's biggest night, Oscars, held hostless for first time in 30 years.

WASHINGTON, Feb 25 (KUNA) - The 91st Academy Awards was held Sunday evening in what is considered Hollywood's biggest night but the show was held without a host for the first time in three decades. "Bohemian Rhapsody" was the biggest winner of the night grabbing four Oscars, followed by "Green Book" and "Roma" that won three Oscars each. Actor Rami Malek, who won best actor for "Bohemian Rhapsody", is the second actor of Arab descent to be nominated for an Oscar after Omar Sheriff for "Lawrence of Arabia" but is the first to win. The movie, about the life of Queen band frontman Freddy Mercury, also won for sound editing, sound mixing and film editing. The movie "Green Book" grabbed the biggest award of the night for best picture. It is inspired by a true story of an Italian-American bouncer who becomes the driver and bodyguard of an African American classical pianist as they tour the Deep South in 1962. It also got the best supporting actor award that went for Mahershala Ali and best original screenplay. Meanwhile, "Roma" won the first Oscar for Mexico for best foreign language film. The movie's director Alfonso Cuaron won the best director award, as well as best cinematography. The Netflix movie portrays the journey of a domestic worker and her journey "set against domestic and political turmoil in 1970s Mexico." The Oscar for best actress went to Olivia Colman for "The Favourite," and the best supporting actress award went to Regina King for "If Beale Street Could Talk," whereas Lady Gaga won her first ever Oscar for best original song "Shallow" from the movie "A Star Is Born." "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" won the Oscar for best animated film. (end) si.rk
