Hollyoaks stars who turn into neighbours.

W HILE most people leave work to go home to their family or loved ones, the cast of Hollyoaks end up going home to one another.

It's not that there's anything going on between them, it's just that they all happen to share houses on the same Liverpool street. The lads live in one house and the girls are just two doors down.

A little strange perhaps? No, insists Ben Hull, who plays wheeler-dealer Lewis Richardson. "It's fine. We respect each other's privacy, but we don't respect each other's Hoovers.

"We borrow their Hoover and never ever take it back."

"But we've stolen bowls and stuff from them now," chips in Terri Dwyer (Ruth Benson). "We just go round and say, `That's for the Hoover'.

"Living near each other is nice as it's security for us with the boys close by and we all get on so well."

But what about problems with fans turning up on their doorsteps?

Dwyer says: "We get it sporadically. We go through phases when a certain group of kids will find out where we live and then there's loads of them. To be fair, they only pester us for a few days and then leave it.

"We say to them, `You can have an autograph if you don't tell your friends'."

The duo are currently becoming closer in Phil Redmond's twice-weekly youth soap on Channel 4 and can be seen getting even closer in the video Hollyoaks - Off On One.

Hollyoaks is on Channel 4 on Mondays and Thursdays. The video Hollyoaks - Off On One is out now.
