Holland & Brown bag it; your money: : ENVIRONMENT.
HEALTH food chain Holland and Barrett is axing plastic carrier bags from its stores in a war against waste.
From January, shoppers will have to bring their own or fork out 4p for a paper bag or 99p for a jute one.
The store - which dishes out 7.6 million carriers a year -is the first to impose a total ban on plastic bags from its premises.
Boss Peter Aldis said: "I challenge the rest of the high street to follow us."
