Holby's Joe to set pulses racing on Strictly.
Byline: JANINE YAQOOB Acting TV Editor
HOLBY City favourite Joe McFadden has become the sixth celebrity to join this year's Strictly Come Dancing line-up.
The Scottish actor, 41, said: "Strictly is one of the biggest, most entertaining shows on TV.
"Being asked to be a part of it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I'm thrilled and terrified about in equal measures!" He joins ex-Communards keyboardist Reverend Richard Coles, Emmerdale's Gemma Atkinson, This Morning's Ruth Langsford, EastEnders star Davood Ghadami and singer Mollie King in the 15th series.
Joe, who was born in Glasgow, is watched by almost five million viewers a week as Raffaello di Lucca in Holby City.
He made his screen debut aged 12 and became a household name as PC Joe Mason in Heartbeat.
He also has a background in theatre - he's appeared in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Rent in London's West End.
It is not known if Joe will be worried about the Strictly curse, as he is notoriously private and never discusses his personal life.
Asked about his love life previously Joe, who lives in Highgate, North London, said: "There's nothing to speak of. I just think it's not really anyone's business.
"I do understand that people want to know. But you give so much of your life to the job that I want some bits for myself."
