Hitchcock academy programs.

BRIMFIELD - It's all happening at Hitchcock Free Academy this summer...

Who would imagine that so much could be going on inside (and outside) one building right in the middle of Brimfield? From African Coiling Pottery to Yoga, Grant-Writing to Theater Production, there is always something new at Hitchcock, and something for everyone, even the family dog.

Check out a stellar new program for ages 10 - Adult: "Movement as Metaphor" taught by world-class circus artists from The Hybrid Movement Co. This intensive class features Circus Arts training in aerial acrobatics on silks, straps, hammock and lyra, as well as floor acrobatics - and more. Limited spaces are left; for further information or to register, contact Joanna Duncan at (413) 883-2715 and visit

Hitchcock offers some free programs and events as well; in addition to free Playgroup for Preschoolers, we again have three free Concerts on the Brimfield Common (thank-you to the Brimfield Cultural Council and Country Bank for Savings!). We're looking forward to Radio Ranch on July 17, New England Weather on July 23, and Flamingo Swing Band on July 31.

HFA's Farmers' Market Festival has grown each year; this summer's event on July 7 will include live music, a drumming circle, Freestyle Dog Dancing and Dog Rescue Nose Training demonstrations, artisans' and authors' booths, Orbitron gyroscope rides, free henna, and more, in addition to farmers with fresh, local produce. Vendors' tables are half-price for this special event, sponsored in part by a grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mass.
