Hitachi Data Systems to Showcase Executives and Advanced Virtualization Solutions at Storage Networking World 2004.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Top Executives to Deliver Perspectives on Storage Industry, and Heterogeneous Virtualization Demonstration to Take Center Stage

Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd (NYSE:HIT), will play a key role in legitimizing virtualization for the enterprise at this Fall's Storage Networking World (SNW) 2004. SNW is the leading conference series designed for storage end-users and industry players, being held in Orlando, FL, from October 25-28, 2004 at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes Resort.

Four Hitachi Data Systems executives are participating at the conference: Shinjiro Iwata, CEO; Hu Yoshida, vice president and CTO; Claus Mikkelsen, senior director of Storage Applications; and Eric Hibbard, senior director, Data Networking Technology. Hitachi Data Systems will also demonstrate key virtualization features of the newly released Hitachi TagmaStore(TM) Universal Storage Platform.

At the SNW Interoperability Lab, Hitachi Data Systems will demonstrate key capabilities of the Hitachi TagmaStore Universal Storage Platform, including the power of Universal Storage Platform's heterogeneous virtualization. By attaching a Hitachi Thunder 9585(TM) V Series modular storage with the SATA Intermix Option, plus an IBM Enterprise Storage Server to a Universal Storage Platform, Hitachi Data Systems will show how external systems become part of a unified pool of storage. This storage environment will be controlled by heterogeneous storage management capabilities of the Hitachi HiCommand(R) Storage Services Manager software.

In addition, Hitachi Data Systems, which is a Platinum sponsor of the event, will be giving a short slide presentation with an overview of its TagmaStore Universal Storage Platform in its booth (P16). Desktop demonstrations of the Storage Services Manager software and Message Archive for E-Mail solutions will be conducted between the Universal Storage Platform overviews.
