Historico-philosophical essays; v.1.

Historico-philosophical essays; v.1.

Wolenski, Jan.

Copernicus Center Press

288 pages

Polish emeritus professor of philosophy Wolenski has collected eight of his historical papers published 2001-04 as a supplement to his Essays in the History of Logic and Logical Philosophy, published by Jagiellonian University Press, Krakow in 1999. One of his goals is to point out that while figures from philosophical powerhouses such as the US and Britain mold the world, interesting things are also happening in philosophical provinces such as Poland. His topics include rationalism and irrationalism in Poland, the rise of many-valued logic in Poland, formal metaphilosophy in Finland, an introduction to the history of epistemology, and Polish logic. There is no index. Distributed in the US by ISBS.
