Historic Kuwait relations hailed.

HIS Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa held talks with Kuwaiti Amir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah at Dasman Palace, in the presence of Crown Prince Shaikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah and Prime Minister Shaikh Jaber Al Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabah.

Discussions focused on ways of bolstering co-operation as well as regional and international issues of common interest. The Premier and the Kuwaiti leadership reviewed distinguished fraternal ties binding both countries and ways of further cementing them in various fields.

The Premier conveyed the greetings of His Majesty to the Kuwaiti Amir, stressing keenness to build on the solid basis of bilateral co-operation which derives strength from deep-rooted historic relations between both countries.

The Premier congratulated the Kuwaiti Amir on the holy month of Ramadan, wishing him abundant good health and happiness and a happy return of the occasion for him, the Kuwaiti people as well as the Arab and Islamic nations.

He commended the key role played by Kuwait at the Gulf, Arab and international levels, affirming that Bahrain and Kuwait have a common vision regarding the crucial phase undergone by the region and the need for stronger co-operation to maintain regional security and stability.

The Prime Minister and the Kuwaiti Amir asserted the need for stronger GCC co-operation due to fast-paced regional developments and their repercussions.

The Kuwaiti Amir held an iftar banquet in honour of the Premier which was attended by the Kuwaiti Crown Prince, Prime Minister and senior officials.

The Prime Minister was welcomed on arrival at the airport by his Kuwaiti counterpart and his deputies, senior officials and both countries' ambassadors.

The Prime Minister returned home later in the night. He was seen off at Kuwait International Airport by the Kuwaiti Prime Minister, Deputy Premiers, senior officials and ambassadors of the two countries.
