His ads spinning the wheels.
Scott Brown has several campaign spots running on television and the radio. Two TV ads that have caught our eye - over and over again, recently - are the one showing him driving his truck around the state, finally pulling up to what presumably is his home in Wrentham, walking happily up the stoop as someone calls out "Hey, Dad" (that, and a shot of an "Entering Framingham" sign, is the sum total of what we remember from the spot); and the other showing him standing benignly in what is presumably the kitchen of that home. And that's the sum total of what we took away from that spot, too. Nice cabinets they've got there.
While we're pleased his campaign has not descended into negativity, we wish for more substance in the days before Tuesday's special election, from all the candidates.
Here's hoping the Scott Brown senatorial campaign is cooking up a meatier message to offer viewers and listeners, so he can drive home for Massachusetts voters his positions on fiscal responsibility, a bipartisan approach to health care, support for veterans and the military effort in Afghanistan, and other important issues. We're not really all that interested in what's for dinner.
