Part 1: Outlook

The Sony W290 inherits the style from the Sony W Series. With a dimension of 97.4 AiEu 57.4 AiEu 22.6mm, it features an all-metal material case with added special texture effects. It weights about 145g, with a solid shell that makes the camera more durable.

It might take users more time to get accustomed to the view which seems smaller that the traditional 2.5-inch screen, but the resolution is very fine and clear. The widescreen mode and HD video mode allow excellent display of widescreen materials.

In shooting mode, backlighting of the IXUS 110 IS shows a clear effect of the true color, while the anti-glare screen offers a better view during shooting.

The Sony W290 features a screen of 3.0 inches with 230,000 pixels, which is the mainstream of the current configuration. However, the color contrast is less sharp when compared with the Canon display.
