High there.. isn't it a small world?

IT could be a scene from cult 1958 sci-film Attack of the 50ft Woman - but this is a real encounter with no special effects.

Passers-by gasped yesterday as the woman with the longest legs in the world met the shortest man on the planet who can walk.

Russian Svetlana Pankratova, 36, stood with Ping Ping, 20, from China, in Trafalgar Square, Central London, for the launch of a book which features both of them - Guinness World Records 2009, due out today. Spain-based Pankratova's long legs measure 4ft 4in.

At 6ft 7in she towers above Ping Ping, who was born with a type of dwarfism and stands at 2ft 5.37in.

In a bright-blue minidress and low-heeled pumps, Pankratova said she liked her legs though she admitted: "It's hard to find clothes, especially trousers."

Ping Ping looked up and said of her legs: "They're very beautiful."
