High speed data transmission at speeds up to 115.2Kbps.
Octocom Systems, Inc., a leader in the switched network access market, has introduced Allegro, the company's newest high speed modem line incorporating V.fast, the modem standard for data transmission speeds greater than 14,400-bps proposed by the Consultative Committee for International Telephone and Telegraph (CCITT).
Using V.fast technology, Allegro operates at speeds up to 115.2Kbps on asynchronous connections and 2- and 4-wire leased lines. As new standards are ratified, Allegro is easily upgraded with software downloads into its flash memory. In addition, the product's front panel keypad and LCD provide simplified user configuration on the desktop versions.
Allegro 8830 allows remote configuration including access, display and control from a central site, using Octocom's Montage Network Management System. Supporting nine CCITT/Bell standards, Allegro 8830 is ideal for users requiring high speed transmission while maintaining compatibility with existing services.
The Allegro 8840 modem provides automatic dial restoral of leased lines and intelligent leased line monitoring, with support for V.32bis, V.33 and V.fast. The advanced autorestoral modem functions autonomously, or as part of a managed modem network controlled by Octocom's Montage Network Management System.
The U.S. list price of Allegro starts at $1,295. Allegro will be available from Octocom Systems in the second half of 1993.
