High performance building conference.
James Garrison, Founder and Principal of Garrison Architects, will be a featured speaker at the First Annual High Performance Building Academy, an educational conference offered by the City University of New York's Continuing Education and Public Programs department. The seminar will provide education tailored to the specific needs of owners, developers, labor leaders, and end-use clients with different levels of familiarity in various areas of high performance.
Sponsored by the Center for Economic and Environmental Partnership and the CUNY Graduate Center, the conference will be an overview of High Performance Building and its increasing influence in the local and global real estate marketplace.
Garrison will be opening speaker during the Orientation to HPB Opportunities, discussing concept initiation and will also lead a breakout session on upgrading existing building and conversions. Later in the week, Mr. Garrison will contribute his industry insight during a seminar on the advanced practicum titled "Making HPB Work."
The Academy curricula are practical and case-based, taught by leaders in the industry and designed to enable attendees to go out and do "high performance" work. One of the Academy's highlights includes an innovative Mock Review of a High Performance RFP, walking participants through the decision-making process regarding how to respond to an RFP including HP criteria.
