High notes at Summer Concert.

Bahrain: St Christopher's Cathedral, Manama, is hosting a Summer Concert Programme on Thursday at 6pm.

Two St Christopher's School teachers Paul Bagshaw (flute) and Olena Nazarova (piano) will perform music by G F Handel, a sonata by Francis Poulenc, a ballade by Carl Reinecke and two pieces by the contemporary composer and flautist Ian Clarke: Sunstreams and Maya for two flutes and piano.

There will also be pieces by Tchaikovsky and Ms Nazarova will play a piano solo by Frederic Chopin.

Mr Bagshaw has performed with the D'Oyly Carte Orchestra and Scottish National Orchestra while Ms Nazarova did her studies in piano in Ukraine, in the Music College of Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev and the Kiev University of Culture and Arts.

Tickets for the concert are BD5 (accompanied children free) and are available from the cathedral office (17253866 or email cathedra@batelco.com.bh) or at the door.
