Methods in molecular biology; v.356

The editors of this book are affiliated with Cellumen, Inc. and Cellomics, Inc., the latter being the company that developed high contact screening (HCS), the high-throughput platform in discovery-driven research and development to analyze the functions of genes and gene products at the level of the cell. Current users and investigators considering implementing HCS in research and development are the intended audience of the 31 contributions, which discuss instrumentation, application software, reagents, and informatics as related to HCS. Some chapters comprise pure review on key topics, while others more specifically treat a method in HCS. Specific topics include: a pharmaceutical company user's perspective on the potential of HCS in drug discovery, characteristics and value of machine learning for imaging in HCS, and discovery of protein kinase phosphates inhibitors.
