Hidden message in Deepika Padukone's wedding dress.
Summary: Deepika looked every bit a queen in the elaborate red and golden outfit.
Recent pictures of Bollywood's most spectacular couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's lavish wedding in Villa del Balbianello in Lake Como, Italy, are ethereal in every way. The actors shared two pictures on social media one each from their Konkani and Sindhi wedding ceremonies, showcasing their well colour-coordinated ensembles by Indian designer, Sabyasachi.
Deepika looked every bit a queen in the elaborate red and golden outfit but her 'dupatta' (a shawl-like scarf) draped over her is grabbing eyeballs. The intricate work on her wedding ensemble which she adorned on the second day of the ceremony had a message weaved on the border in Sanskrit language. It read: 'Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava' which means "May you forever be married and steer away from the curse of widowhood embroidered onto it", Filmfare reported .
Deepika oozed royalty with her huge maangtika, heavy traditional jewellery, rings on her henna-laden hands and her statement nose ring. While the groom was twinning with his bride in a red Sabyasachi 'sherwani' with layers of ruby necklaces around his neck, reminding of the couple's regal looks in the film 'Padmaavat'.
For the Konkani wedding on November 14, Ranveer wore a traditional white dhoti-kurta while Deepika looked ravishing in a gold Sabyasachi saree, layered necklaces, jhumkas and a statement 'maathapati' on her forehead by the designer completed her traditional South Indian look.
