Hezbollah condemns killing of Iranian nuclear scientist.
BEIRUT: Hezbollah condemned Wednesday the killing of an Iranian nuclear scientist by "Zionist terrorism," expressing confidence that the attack would not stall Iran's progress in the atomic field.
"While condemning this terrorist crime, Hezbollah expresses its confidence that it will not disrupt the continuing evolvement and advancement of the Islamic Republic in the scientific nuclear field," said the party in a statement.
Nuclear scientist Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, 32, was killed in a bomb attack in Tehran Wednesday morning. Hezbollah said that the assassination of Roshan "is a terrorist crime in the full sense of the term, targeting a great scientist who has contributed to the development and advancement of Iran" and to enhancing the "scientific independence" of the country.
The party said that the killing comes amid a Western media campaign designed to tarnish the reputation of the Iranian nuclear program by claiming that it serves military purposes "despite all evidence provided by Iran on the peaceful purposes of its nuclear program."
